Snow & traffic lights: causing delays across Bucks

Snow, High Wycombe

Published by Charlotte Fisher at 4:27pm 22nd January 2019. (Updated at 6:40pm 22nd January 2019)

Snow and temporary traffic lights are causing delays across Buckinghamshire this afternoon (22nd Jan).

Police have issued a warning about icy driving conditions this evening and overnight.

High Wycombe is gridlocked due to heavy snow.

Meanwhile in Aylesbury...

There are temporary traffic lights on the A418 in Bierton by the Red Lion pub.

These are causing long delays for drivers trying to head away from Aylesbury.

Traffic is backed up onto Elmhurst Road to the Horse and Jockey crossroads and past the prison towards Cambridge Street.

Update at 5:25pm: Traffic is now also very bad on Bicester Road and Gatehouse Road.

Princes Risborough

Motorists are stuck in long delays on the A4010 in Princes Risborough, where snow is reasonably heavy.

A broken down bus on the A4010 just south of Risborough is causing issues in both directions.

There are also temporary traffic lights at the Ellesborough Road junction, which aren't helping.

Update at 6:38pm:

The A4010 is closed between Monks Risborough and Askett because of a serious crash.

Princes Risborough is at a standstill, avoid the area if you can.

Great Missenden is also very busy.

Nags Head Lane is shut after a serious crash, which is causing traffic on the A413.

Long Crendon

There was an accident earlier this afternoon, which Thames Valley Police attended.

Keep up to date with all the latest travel and traffic here

Gritters will be out this evening..

Some of the Vale is looking lovely though
