Having a new baby should be a happy, exciting time... but for one family in Aylesbury it has been a scary one.

Little Chloe Ibbotson has had to deal with three lots of Bronchiolitis.

She was only born in August and her first trip to the hospital was at just two weeks.

Mum Becky said:

"She woke up from a nap after having very little to eat and her lips started turning blue.

"So I took her back to the doctors, who rushed her straight into Stoke Mandeville Hospital by ambulance and Chloe was admitted for six days.

"For any child of that size, being rushed into hospital by ambulance is a traumatic experience for anybody."

Although very common, the condition can have some very severe symptoms for those under two.

Becky added:

"Children struggle to breathe, they have this awful, hacking cough, you can see the rib cage as they breathe in and out.

"They make this awful panting noise, too.

"Very often it come with a temperature and they are off their food. Sometimes there is blueness of the lips, where there just isn't enough oxygen going into the bloodstream."

After that first hospital trip, Chloe has had two more bouts of the condition, including another trip back to Stoke just after Christmas.

The family now want to raise money for the British Lung Foundation, as other members of the family suffer with lung conditions, as well as Stoke Mandeville Hospital, after the care they received.

Here's Becky again:

"Being put into hospital, away from my two-year-old son and my husband, it was very isolating.

"But there was always someone to talk to, there was one particular nurse who made sure I slept and really told me off if I didn't.

"They were just incredible."

So dad Steve is running 1,000 miles this year, with a target of £10,000.

He's already underway with the challenge and you can donate here.
