Reports of frozen fish sold at doorsteps in Northchurch

Published by Charlotte Fisher at 6:05pm 7th February 2019. (Updated at 5:54am 8th February 2019)

Police have had reports in Northchurch that males are going door to door selling frozen fish.

From further information they've had, it suggests that this fish has been frozen multiple times.

This can be very unsafe to consume.

Berkhamsted Police believe the males advertise selling a box for a certain price, then come back with a larger box and ask the customer to pay hundreds more for it.

Reports also suggest that the males are asking for payments to be made in cheque form and asking the customer to leave who the cheque is for blank.

Police are advising people to be careful when purchasing food that is sold using door to door tactics, as if it hasn't be prepared properly, it can make people seriously ill.

If you are being pressured into buying items door to door, please call 101 and report it.
