Three sheep have died after being attacked by a dog just outside of Aylesbury.

WARNING: IMAGES ARE BLURRED BUT YOU MAY STILL FIND THEM DISTRESSING

Farmer, Helen Lear, was distraught to find her sheep in an awful condition after a dog got through the fence.

They had tried to make it back to farm buildings for shelter.

Helen told us:

"Unfortunately, there was one on the ground and it had lost an ear and most of the top of its head, it had been scalped.

"The sheep was still alive, which was pretty pitiful.

"I discovered another one with its ear hanging off, unfortunately that dropped off in the shed."

Helen is understandably very distraught, even more so because this isn't the first time it's happened:

"This is the second time in six month it's happened here.

"Last time I put signs up and some rather graphic photographs on the footpath,.

She's calling on dog owners to keep pets on leads when they are around livestock,so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

"They need to keep them on very close control.

"I know it's a pain keep a dog on a lead all of the time.

"But, around livestock you take the risk."
