Perinatal group supporting mums in Bucks

Published by Charlotte Fisher at 3:05pm 15th March 2019.

A Buckinghamshire group for expectant and new mums is holding an open day tomorrow (17th March).

The PeriNatal Partnership provides antenatal & postnatal support, advice and therapy for women and their partners.

They aim to provide quality care throughout pregnancy and following birth - known as the perinatal period.

The group was formed by three ladies, who are all mums and professionals in the field.

The PeriNatal Partnership is running a free open day to introduce and explain its services tomorrow (17th March).

There will be two focuses throughout the day:

  • Antenatal (before birth) from 11:30pm to 2:30pm
  • Postnatal (after birth) from 3pm to 6pm.

Tara Micchiana is one of the ladies behind the group:

"I think there's a lot of stigma attached to being able to say I'm struggling and I'm struggling being a mother.

"The biggest thing we want to do is actually to normalise that and say - it's okay to say it's harder than I thought it would be."

It's being held at The Kimble Stewart Hall in Little Kimble from 11:30am - 6pm.

There's more info on the group here.
