Police appeal for Berkhamsted tool thief

Police have released images of a man they'd like to speak to after theft incidents in Berkhamsted.

On the 28th of January, an offender entered the Travis Perkins store on Station Rd in Berkhamsted eight times between 8:45am and 9:05 and stole hand and power tools worth more than £2000.

On February 11, an offender entered the same store just before 11am.

He put a bunch of hammers up his jumper and left the store without paying for them.

He then returned to the store and did the same thing again - until staff cottoned on to his actions.

The offender then left.

This is on top of separate similar incidents at the Cuffley branch of Travis Perkins, where torches and hand tools were taken.

PC Sue Desmond from the Berkhamsted Safer Neighbourhood Team said:

“We believe the man pictured may have information that can assist our on-going investigation.
