Man who robbed Wycombe petrol station for cigarettes jailed

After robbing a petrol station and taking cigarettes, a man from High Wycombe has been jailed.

Nasar Akram, aged 35, of Herbert Road, High Wycombe, pleaded guilty at Aylesbury Crown Court on Monday (8/4) to:

  • one count of robbery
  • one count of breach of a criminal behaviour order
  • one count of breach of a probation order
  • one count of committing a further offence whilst on a suspended sentence

Akram was sentenced at the same court to a total of two years and six months' imprisonment.

This is in relation to an incident at around midnight on 26 February 2019 when Akram forced entry to Esso Petrol Station, Amersham Hill, Hazlemere where he threatened a member of staff with a weapon and took nine packets of cigarettes.

Akram was arrested on 28 February and charged on 1 March.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Nathan Davey, based at High Wycombe police station, said:

"This was a frightening incident for the member of staff involved.

"Behaviour such as this will not be tolerated, and we work tirelessly to bring offenders to justice."
