Aylesbury park gets new kit

Published by Dan Gooding at 3:00pm 19th April 2019.

Work continues to improve an Aylesbury park as new play equipment has been installed.

Improvements at Alfred Rose Park on Elmhurst include recently installed upgrades to the junior and teenage play equipment in the park.

AVDC say these are already proving to be a great success during the first two weeks of the Easter holidays.

The three newly-installed items of play equipment, a dynamic rocking and rotating Mobilus, zip wire and flat seat swings, were funded through Section 106 developer contributions.

Together with the existing climbing structure, nest swing, disc roundabout and multi-use games area, provide an 'Excellent' standard of play value as assessed by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.

In addition to the above, and due to the increased popularity of this area of the park, extra seating and litter bins will also be provided.

Plans are also underway to improve play provision for younger children in the park's other play area next to the Alfred Rose Community Centre.

Joe Houston, Parks & Green Infrastructure Officer, commented:

"It's great news that this major piece of work in the park has been completed in time for the Easter holidays. Local families can now enjoy a more adventurous and fun environment.

"It also demonstrates AVDC's commitment to maintaining and updating its parks and open spaces."
