Rubbish has been dumped on an Aylesbury road, after a truck fire.

The fire happened on one of AVDC's rubbish lorries this morning (Thurs).

To 'prevent any further fire hazard', the rubbish was dumped onto Chelsea Road on Fairford Leys.

The council say no one was injured and the road will be cleared ASAP.

A spokesperson said:

"The remaining load has been bought back to the yard, tipped in a bay and inspected by the fire service who had followed the vehicle back.

"The fire service has recommended we leave the load on the ground for 2 hours before moving to the recycling sheds. They have carried out thermal imaging and they are not concerned the load here at the yard is at any risk.

"Our street scene crews have gone out to the scene to help clear the tipped waste in Chelsea Road. They will shovel the waste back into an empty RCV. That waste will be bought back here and put into a skip, where it will then be transferred to the EfW due to it now being too contaminated for recycling."
