An EastEnders soap star has been announced for this year's panto in Aylesbury

Danny Walters will be swapping the East End streets to tread the boards of Aylesbury Waterside Theatre this Christmas.

London-born actor Danny Walters, who currently plays Keanu Taylor in the soap, will be starring as the Beast in Beauty and the Beast from Fri 6 Dec 2019 - Sun 5 Jan 2020.

He will, of course, be joining Andy Collins and La Voix, returning to play loveable duo Louis and Polly Pot et Pan.

In January 2017, after having been in EastEnders for less than a year, Danny won the public vote to take home the 'Best Newcomer' award at the National Television Awards.

Danny also played Tiger Dyke in ITV's award winning comedy sitcom Benidorm, a stark difference to his current character Keanu.

Danny's previous television credits include Leslie Matlin in BBC's period drama series Call the Midwife and Mike Weston in BBC3's drama Our World War.

Although regularly seen on our TV screens Danny is also a talented theatre actor having starred in The Greater Game as Peggy at The Southwark Playhouse. A fascinating true story of the 41 men who swapped the football fields of London for the battle fields of the Somme in 1916. He has also played the role of Moritz Stiefel in Spring Awakening at The Pavillion Theatre in Brighton.

Danny has helped raise awareness for organisations such as Children with Cancer UK and Dogs Trust UK.

Danny is thrilled to be reprising The Beast in Beauty and the Beast having played the role to great critical acclaim last year in Blackpool Grand Theatre.

He said:

"The atmosphere during panto is electric, and I've heard the audiences in Bucks are hard core panto fans!

"I don't want to wish away the summer but I genuinely can't wait to get started."

This sparkling fairy tale promises fun for all the family with traditional panto slapstick alongside stunning sets, dazzling costumes and an action-packed adventure in a cursed castle under the spell of an evil enchantress.
