After another week of traffic on the A41 Bucks County Council & Taylor Wimpey have apologised for the delays.

Taylor Wimpey put up three-way traffic lights on the A41 outside the Holiday Inn on Monday 8th July and it's cause chaos for motorists ever since.

Frustrations continue over traffic chaos on A41

We've now spoken to the Cabinet Member for Transportation Mark Shaw who said:

"Can I take this opportunity to apologise to the people of Aylesbury and the surrounding area for the disaster as such they have faced over the last week.

"We are working very closely with Taylor Wimpey to try and improve the situation, it will get better just please act sensibly, drive safely and don't take pictures from your car because you can be liable for prosecution by the police so please think sensibly"

New smart lights are being installed this week to help with the flow of traffic.

Mark told us how they will work:

"It will connect with our system at County Hall, will be better able to deal with the flow of traffic and will be able to let the traffic move rather than 10 or 20 cars go through then the lights change again."

A spokesperson on behalf of Taylor Wimpey and M.V. Kelly said:

“We apologise to local residents for the inconvenience caused by the ongoing works to install a new four way traffic signal junction on the A41. We understand that the roadworks are causing delays and we are doing all we can to keep disruption to a minimum.

“Before starting these works we received all of the necessary approvals from Buckinghamshire County Council, as Highway Authority, including permission to decommission the existing traffic lights and install temporary signals. Local residents can view the details of the works and find confirmation that a permit has been granted by visiting https://buckinghamshire.roadworks.org

“We had a meeting with Buckinghamshire County Council on Friday 12th July to discuss the implementation of additional measures to help keep the traffic moving more smoothly and we are working to put these in place at the earliest opportunity.

“We would like to thank the community for their cooperation while the works continue.”

We have been told that the lights will remain in place until November.
