Man stabbed at Chesham cemetery

Police are appealing witnesses after a man was stabbed at a cemetery in Chesham.

It happened at around 7.40pm on Wednesday evening (7/8) when the man was walking through the cemetery and came across two men and a woman.

An argument escalated and the victim, a man in his 30's was chased as he ran away.

The victim fell to floor and was stabbed in the buttock.

He sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Nicholas Widdison, of Force CID based at Aylesbury police station, said:

“We are investigating this assault in which a man was stabbed.

“We have arrested three people in connection with this incident, but we are asking the public to come forward if they have information that could assist our investigation.

“We would ask anyone who witnessed the assault or saw two men and a woman in Chesham cemetery shortly before 7.40pm on Wednesday to please get in touch.”

Three people from Buckinghamshire were arrested on suspicion of GBH and released on bail until September.
