Sainsbury's store finally approved for Aylesbury

Published by Dan Gooding at 4:41pm 23rd August 2019.

Plans to build a new supermarket in Aylesbury have been approved after several years of waiting.

Sainsbury's application for the corner of Gatehouse Road and Bicester Road has been given the thumbs-up by AVDC this week.

These plans were submitted two years ago, but the site has been earmarked for the store to be built there for much longer.

The site has been empty for years

The proposals include the superstore, including a cafe, as well as changes to Gatehouse Road to have a signalised junction and a wider roadway.

Pedestrian access will also be improved.
