Another day of bus service changes in Aylesbury Vale

There are more bus route changes around Aylesbury Vale this morning.

The number 50, which only ran at school times and on Sundays, will now run throughout the week during the day to serve Wendover.

The 55 has also changed, no longer serving Stoke Mandeville Hospital from Amersham and Chesham.

Bucks County Council's website sets out the changes below:

50 Redline Buses Aylesbury - Wendover: This service which previously ran at school times and Sundays only is extended to run throughout Monday to Saturday day time. Alongside the revised 55 service the service will call in at Elm Farm estate replacing the 61A/164 journeys which previously ran there. There is no change to the Sunday times.

55 Redline Buses Aylesbury - Amersham/Chesham: This service will run a revised route and timetable as follows:

  • Buses will leave/enter Aylesbury via Wendover Road instead of Mandeville Road, as such they will no longer serve Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Lower Road or Station Road in Stoke Mandeville.
    • Passengers wishing to travel onto Stoke Mandeville Hospital are advised to change at Aylesbury Bus Station onto route 7, 9, 13, 300 or X30.
    • Passengers from Station Road, Stoke Mandeville can catch the route 55 service on the 'Station Road Turn' stops on Wendover Road.  Regular buses into Aylesbury can be found on either Wendover Road or Risborough Road, Stoke Mandeville (about a 5-8 minute walk away from the centre of Station Road).
    • Those on low incomes or with medical needs can claim transport costs to hospital appointments such as a taxi fare from the NHS Healthcare Travel Costs scheme
  • Alongside the new 50 timetable most 55 journeys will call in Elm Farm Estate in Aylesbury replacing the 61A/164 journeys which previously ran there.
  • Most journeys will continue to run every two hours Monday to Fridays between Aylesbury and Amersham with journeys extending to Chesham at peak times only. Passengers wishing to travel to/from Chesham are advised to change at Amersham a number of regular bus routes run between Amersham and Chesham.

There are a few other alterations being introduced.
