Nearly £800k New Homes Bonus divided amongst Vale villages

Cash given to AVDC for new homes built will benefit the Vale's villages.

Nearly £800,000 from the New Homes Bonus is being divided up.

Projects include community centre improvements in Buckingham and a play area upgrade in Stewkley.

AVDC's cabinet is set to approve the funding allocations tonight (Weds).

The full list of projects is below:

  • Buckingham £150,000 Improvements to the community centre at Cornwalls Meadow 
  • Stoke Hammond £23,230 Replace and repair the roof to the community centre and redecoration of the interior
  • Haddenham £165,000 Phase 1 or a larger project to refurbish community facilities and the village hall at Banks Park
  • Stewkley £40,000 Upgrade to play area
  • Stewkley £30,000 New semi-automatic toilet cubicle at the recreaton ground
  • Grendon Underwood £16,000 Refurbishment of Village Hall Cloakroom facilities 
  • Marsh Gibbon £55,165 Renovation of cemetery roads and pathways
  • Gawcott with Lenborough £20,000 Perimeter fencing around all weather pitch
  • Gawcott with Lenborough £32,000 Extension to playing field car park
  • Great Brickhill £110,000 Village Hall extension and refurbishment
  • Cuddington £48,600 Traffic calming measure - build out to slow traffic travelling though village
  • Ivinghoe £54,505 Improvements to the play areas at Ivinghoe Lawn and Ivinghoe Aston
  • Ivinghoe £10,000 (on behalf of Community Hub Trustees) Replace and repair suspended flooring in hub. 
  • Stone Bishopstone & Hartwell £8,000 Outdoor fitness equipment 
  • Watermead £4,000 New flooring in village hall 
  • Ashendon £12,625 Protection of footway eroded by traffic
  • Mentmore £15,000 New heating system for village hall
