Woman raped in Amersham and left injured

A woman has been raped in Amersham and left with an injury to her nose.

Two men have been arrested and released under investigation after the incident at the weekend.

Police are now appealing for two specific witnesses to come forward to help with the investigation.

What happened?

  • Between 10am and 10.40am on Sunday (8th Sep) the victim, a woman in her 30s, was attacked at an address in Hill Avenue.
  • The victim sustained an injury to her nose during the incident.
  • After the incident, the victim fled the address and two female members of the public assisted her.

Specialist Investigator Kay Humphreys, based at Aylesbury police station, said:

“The victim was at an address in Hill Avenue and after the incident she left the property and spoke to two members of the public, along with a local business owner.

“I am appealing to identify these two people who saw the victim in a distressed state in Hill Avenue between 10.15am and 10.30am.

“I am also appealing to anybody else who may have any information regarding this incident to contact police.

A 28-year-old man from Amersham has been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, but has been released under investigation.

A 29-year-old man from Leeds was also arrested on suspicion of rape and has been released under investigation.
