Taking a look at the new Family Support Service in Bucks

The new Family Support Service in Buckinghamshire has been running since the start of September, so Mix96 went to see how it's all been going.

The service runs from the new Family Centre Sites in the county.

These were originally 25 Children's Centres that have changed to 16 Family Centres, that helps ages 0-19.

Changes haven't been without their critics and there was concern about communication at the start of the term.

We went to the Berryfields Family Centre where a 'Stay and Play' session was taking place.

Cabinet Member for Children's Services, Councillor Warren Whyte was also there and told us how the Support Service has been operating:

"I'm really pleased.

"It's been up and running since the start of term, so we're in week three now.

"The staff are all settling in because obviously it's a big upheaval for our staff, we've done an awful lot of work behind the scenes to make it happen

"I'm really pleased with out it's going - I've had a few emails just asking me a few questions the first week of so and I'm really pleased to be able to rectify that."
