Comedy night in Aylesbury for Muscular Dystrophy

A man from Aylesbury is continuing to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy.

Martin Hywood started fundraising a few years back after his diagnosis and has since raised £150,000 for MD UK which equates to 3,333 hours of research.

Martin has now teamed up with comedian Jon Richardson to bring a charity stand-up night to Aylesbury's Waterside Theatre in 2020.

The confirmed date for "Jon Richardson & Friends" is Thursday 9th April 2020 and tickets are due to go on sale in the next couple of weeks.

Martin told us why this is so important:

"Muscular Dystrophy is an extremely rare disease - there is 70,000 people affected in the UK and it doesn't really get this sort of attention, so this is why this is extremely needed and we hope that one day we contribute to finding treatments and cures."

He also told us what we can expect from the evening of comedy:

"We are going to have a night of comedy that will be Jon Richardson and friends and he is going to bring some colleagues and friends of his and it will be a lot like live at the Apollo.

"It's going to be 4 or 5 comedians and it will be great fun for a great cause."

Martin is also continuing to raise funds through his Just Giving page.
