Circus fundraiser for Aylesbury school

After a fire at an Aylesbury school, a circus is performing there today to raise money for resources.

Broughton Infant School was significantly damaged by smoke after the blaze last year.

The Happy Circus is performing at the school today (13th Oct) with all the money raised from ticket sales going to the school.

Headteacher Mr Morrisey told us why they're fundraising:

"This time last year the school was going through a bit of a difficult patch.

"We had a fire and we had a recent flood before that.

"So the money we're raising is going to our outdoor area in particular."

The money will also go towards a Wellbeing Room.

Mr Morrisey continued to tell us why he thought that was important:

"So, when I came here I felt like all of the children needed that net, really, to support them in their emotional needs.

"Something might have happened at home and they come in and just need that extra support."

The room will be used for various activities including yoga and meditation sessions, with the Wellbeing Team.
