Campaign to re-open Bucks tip ramps up

Plans to re-open a Buckinghamshire tip have moved forward.

The campaign to bring back Bledlow's Household Waste Site is gathering momentum, with more money raised and a meeting tonight to discuss plans.

A number of planning consultancies have been approached to discuss the re-opening of the Bledlow Ridge Household Recycling Centre which was closed down by Buckinghamshire County Council on 31st March 2019.

The Community Interest Company have decided to hold their first Annual General Meeting this week to discuss the planned re-opening.

The inaugural meeting will take place at 7pm in the Princes Centre, Princes Risborough.

It has been called because a "sufficient" £8,700 has been generated since a funding launch on 25th July 2019.

The Community Interest Company who are behind the re-opening, are led by County Councillors Bill Bendyshe-Brown and Carl Etholen as well as 12 Town and Parish Councils.

Bill Bendyshe-Brown has said:

"I and my fellow Directors and Committee members are so pleased with the public support we have received that we feel that it is now time we shared this good news in a much wider public forum.

"We do hope as many residents from our Bledlow HRC catchment area will make every effort to attend.’

Carl Etholen supported this by saying:

"Our team are absolutely marvellous and so enthusiastic in wanting to reopen this site."
