Anxiety levels record high as 1 in 3 Bucks adults care for parents

Over a third of adults in Buckinghamshire now has a parents living alone, with anxiety levels reaching record levels.

With the number of dementia sufferers in the UK set to reach two million by 2050 and more than 112,000 people having to leave their jobs to care for someone with dementia last year, research conducted by CPR Global Technology shows that over a third of adults in Buckinghamshire now has a parent who lives alone.
The research also revealed that anxiety levels for those stretched between caring for children and vulnerable or aging parents is reaching an all-time high with three in five Buckinghamshire adults over 40 contacting their parents at least once a day, with one in five making contact more than three times a day just to make sure they're ok.
Chelsea Davies, Business Development Manager at Queen's Award-winning CPR Global Technology, makers of the CPR Guardian Monitoring App and Watch, said:

"Our research underlines the issues we are facing as an aging population.

"Almost a quarter (23%) of people revealed they would invest in technology if it meant their parents could be more independent.

"And with three in five adults over 40 (60%) in Buckinghamshire not wanting their parents put into a care home so they can retain their independence, we would really encourage people to try the technology that is available today as it can have a real impact on peace of mind and independence."

The CPR Guardian Monitoring App & Watch has a built-in emergency alert button, a heart rate monitor, a mobile phone and GPS tracking with Geo-Zone alerts which activate if a loved one strays outside predesignated areas.
Chelsea Davies added:

"The CPR Guardian is designed to help keep the aging population independent for longer and give peace of mind to their families, so it is providing a real solution for both generations.
"Users of the CPR Guardian are telling us that being able to call loved ones at any time is particularly useful, as relatives misplacing phones is a real problem, and it's also helping people avoid putting more onerous care plans in place."
