Candidates come forward to be Buckingham's next MP

After over ten years without a full voice in Parliament, Buckingham will soon have a new MP.

John Bercow stood down as Speaker of the House of Commons and the area's MP a few weeks ago.

Now, we are seeing those wanting to replace him coming forward.

In alphabetical order, these are the candidates so far:

Andrew Bell

Brexit Party

Andrew was stepping down as candidate just before the official list was published, but the Brexit Party decided to contest the seatr against the Tories anyway.

He's currently working in business.

Stephen Dorrell

Liberal Democrats

Stephen has already been an MP, previously serving under the Conservatives in the Midlands.

He stepped down as an MP in 2014, but has now joined the Lib Dems.

David Morgan

The Labour Party

David is from Buckinghamshire and campaigns both here and abroad on social justice issues.

He has said he hopes to give Buckingham a brighter future.

Greg Smith

Conservatives

Greg works in marketing, print and design, according to his Twitter profile and is also a McLaren F1 supporter.

He has a wife and three-year-old son.

He last stood to be an MP in Hayes & Harlington in 2017.

Ned Thompson

Independent

Ned is a student at the University of Buckingham and is originally from Harrogate in Yorkshire.

Antonio Vitello

English Democrats

Antonio grew up in Winslow and studied law in London.
