Hare coursing arrests in Mentmore

Arrests were made last night in the Mentmore area after the National Police Air Service (NPAS) located individuals suspected to be hunting with dogs on the farmland.

Team 5 of the NPAS quickly responded to the matter, arresting two males on suspicion of Hunting Act offences. Both suspects remain in custody and the investigation is on going.

A vehicle and 3 dogs were seized, suspected to be involved in the crime

Hare coursing, which is the pursuit of hares with dogs, is illegal under the Hunting Act 2004.

Aylesbury Vale Police warn that this rural crime is a priority for them and that they will deal with the offenders robustly.

The police urge the public to continue to report countryside crime or suspicious activity to police.

In the event of a live emergency call 999, or otherwise call 101.
