Santa dash brings in over £1.5k for hospice

Published by Dan Gooding at 12:01pm 3rd December 2019.

Over £1,500 has been raised by a load of Santas running through Haddenham.

The cash is going to Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, after their successful event in the village on Sunday.

This new event was enjoyed by whole families with children as well as grandparents and four-legged friends taking part in the fun.

Everyone warmed up with gentle aerobics led by Steven Gregory and the team from local gym Fitlife before Buckinghamshire's jolliest Santa Claus gave them the go-ahead to start them off at 11am.

FNHC's Events & Community Manager Vicky James said:

"The support and welcome from the people of Haddenham was fabulous with lots of spectators cheering on our Santa Dashers, and it was a truly wonderful addition to our fundraising calendar.

"We would like to say a huge thank you to Angela Hart, Laura Ewers, Sue Peck and all the Haddenham Community Support Group who helped make the event happen and to all those who took part."

So far the event has raised just over £1,500 for the Hospice, with sponsorship money still coming in to the Charity.

The Charity is holding two more Santa Dashes around the county this month, in Great Missenden on Sunday 8th December and Wendover on Saturday 21st December.
