New store announced for Aylesbury shopping centre

A sports shop is moving in to Friars Square in Aylesbury.

The shopping centre has announced that JD will be moving in in Spring 2020.

JD has signed a 10 year lease on a 4,000 sq ft unit.

JD will open its new premium store format in a prominent unit in Friars Square in Spring 2020. It will be the first Aylesbury store for the retailer.

Known as the Undisputed King of Trainers, JD sells branded and own brand sports and casual wear. Customers will find big brands such as Nike, adidas and The North Face alongside own brand labels.

Friars Square's investment manager PATRIZIA has also announced it has secured renewed leases with River Island, H&M and New Look.

Friars Square centre manager Andy Margieson said:

"JD is always a big draw thanks to its wide appeal for shoppers looking for great sportswear and leading fashion.

"It's great for Friars Square and our shoppers that such a major national retailer is bringing its new premium store format to Aylesbury."

Shaun Hose, asset manager at PATRIZIA, said:

"We are delighted to welcome JD Sports to Friars Square, who will diversify the mix of retailers we have for our loyal customers.

"This new letting to JD Sports, combined with the lease renewals we have recently secured, demonstrates the ongoing confidence of top high street retailers in this scheme and Aylesbury.

"In line with our asset management strategy, we plan to further enhance the centre's food and beverage offering and are in negotiations with potential occupiers."
