LIVE: Election 2019 results day

Aylesbury and Buckingham have new MPs today.

The two constituencies have new representatives for the first time in over 20 years.

Those are just two stories of many on this election morning.

We're bringing you the latest results, both local and national, in our live blog below.

We're going to close the live blog now.

The big news is that the Conservatives have won big, both nationally and locally.

Boris Johnson's government has won a majority in parliament with 363 seats at the moment (only two constituencies are left to declare). Labour have lost 59 seats and are currently on 203, forcing Jeremy Corbyn to say he won't lead Labour into the next election.

Locally it's all blue but there are a lot of new faces. Here are all the details:

Thank you for reading our blog, we're going to continue examining the results  and looking at what our new MPs have told us their priorities are.

Thankyou to the team here, Scarlett at the count, Dan on-air and Chris on-line.

Time for breakfast!

Greg Smith, Buckingham's new MP is happy:

Talking to Mix96, Rob Butler has set out some pretty strong views on HS2.

He says he'll vote against the high speed rail project, even if the conservative whips try to force him to vote for it:

"If it comes to HS2, I'm very clear that I will vote in the interests of the constituents and if that means voting against the whip on HS2, that is what I shall do.

"I've already had an undertaking from the Transport Secretary that he'll meet me with local residents and look at some ideas again because that is fundamentally the biggest single issue that people are concerned about."

That's all from the count...

Henley & Thame held by John Howell

The Conservatives have held onto the seat once more.

Mr. Howell had 32,189 votes, with a share of 54.8%.

Nationally the Conservatives have 350 seats right now, Labour have 202, the Lib Dems have 9.

SNP have had a very strong night winning 46 seats so far.
