South West Herts has elected Conservative candidate Gagan Mohindra after Gauke ran as independent.

David Gauke ousted as MP for Tring & Berkhamsted

Tring and Berkhamsted has a new MP.

Gagan Mohindra has been elected in the South West Herts constituency, beating David Gauke who was the MP there previously.

Mohindra achieved 49.6% of the vote getting 30,327 votes, Gauke came second as an independent candidate with 15,919 votes.

Labour finished third with 7,228 votes, Lib Dems were fourth, getting 6,251 votes and Green's Tom Pashby won 1,466 votes.

Former MP David Gauke was elected in 2005 as a Conservative but fell out with the party and was running as an independent candidate in this election.
