Leighton Buzzard man jailed for sexually assaulting young girl

A 64-year-old man from Leighton Buzzard has been jailed for 11 years for assaulting a young girl.

Terry Taylor, of Kingfisher drive appeared at Luton Crown Court today (13/12) sentenced for seven offences of sexual assault on a child under 13 and three offences of assault on a child by penetration.

The forklift truck driver committed the crimes during a two month period between May and June 2018.

Judge Lynn Tayton QC heard that the offences involved the defendant touching the girl's bottom under her clothing and intimately fondling her. He also repeatedly kissed her, using his tongue.

The court, before the sentencing heard that the girl, who is now 11 years old, still suffers flashbacks over what happened.

Judge Tayton said:  

"This is a case which can only be met by a custodial sentence."

Terry Taylor was also made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and his name is now on the Sex Offenders' Register.
