Christmas at risk for children with cancer

People in Buckinghamshire are being asked to show their support this holiday season.

CLIC Sargent support children and young people with cancer, as well as their families.

Although Christmas is a magical time for most this can be lost for those in hospital or going through treatment.

CLIC Sargent Christmas appeal

Stephanie Parker works with the Buckinghamshire area and explained why is is such a difficult time

"You're not at home you don't have your comforts around you. You can't see a Christmas tree you're not waking up excited to a stocking at the end of your bed.

"You're unfortunately in hospital going through treatment and it's not normal.  Your family around you are worried and you're worried."

"It's just the complete absence of Christmas."

CLIC Sargent help these families all year round, but have asked for people to help during this holiday season.

Providing housing, carers and supporting families is important in making them feel as comfortable as they can be.

Help can be given through donations, or by visiting the CLIC shop for Christmas gifts.
