Walking to help the homeless in Aylesbury Vale

A project to help young homeless people in Buckinghamshire could finally reach its fundraising goal this weekend.

Youth Concern are trying to raise £1m to create a space for young people who are, or at risk of becoming, homeless.

They are nearly there and Sunday's walk at Coombe Hill is the last push for funds.

It's a 10.4km walk, starting in Wendover and heading up around Coombe Hill and Chequers.

You can find event details here.

Youth Concern is setting up a flagship youth supported accommodation and employment pathways project called ‘The Next Step’.

This 9-bed project will provide up to 20 young people with a safe home for up to a year.

Bespoke one-to-one support packages will be provided focusing on health, skills, employment and resettlement, to enable a smooth transition to independent living.
