Visitors asked to stay away from Bucks' hospitals

Published by Dan Gooding at 8:21am 13th January 2020.

Fears about the spread of norovirus mean restrictions at Buckinghamshire's hospitals.

Bucks Healthcare is currently imposing restrictions on visitors permitted onto the adult wards at Stoke Mandeville and Amersham hospitals.

This is a preventative measure to limit the potential risk of norovirus infection.

The Trust are asking four our cooperation in observing the following restrictions:

NO VISITORS to attend inpatients on adult wards unless there are exceptional circumstances which have been agreed in advance by the senior ward staff.

They are asking us to call ahead before making a visit to the hospital to avoid not being allowed onto a particular ward.

These restrictions will be reviewed on a regular basis each day.

Ward staff are instructed to inform patients and their friends and families of these restrictions for the comfort and safety of all patients and staff.

These restrictions do not apply to Wycombe Hospital or to the children's wards at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

If you have any concerns at all, speak to the nurse in charge of the ward.
