Free parking introduced in Princes Risborough

Parking charges have been scrapped at weekends in Princes Risborough.

Two car parks are now free on Saturday and Sunday, thanks to funding from the Town Council.

They are:

  • The Mount Car Park (Leisure centre)
  • Horns Lane (M&S)

Princes Risborough Town Council are trialling the idea for a year, to encourage more of us to support the town centre.

It has been instigated by Mayor & Chairman, Cllr Matthew Walsh, following surveys undertaken with town centre retailers, and subsequent discussions with Wycombe District Council and will be funded by Princes Risborough Town Council.

The trial which forms part of the Town Councils Economic Regeneration strategy to attract visitors and footfall to the High street has been funded as part of the £250k regeneration partnership with Wycombe District Council.

The Town Council Chairman & Mayor, Cllr Matthew Walsh said:

“We hope that by offering free parking at the weekends this will encourage people to support our local shops and eateries and will also be of benefit to those that visit the leisure facilities, sports clubs and churches.

“This is great news for the businesses and shoppers and shows that we will listen to the feedback people give us - we want our town centre to thrive."
