Another Bucks parish sets out development plans

A plan to see 160 new homes added to villages near Risborough has been revealed.

The neighbourhood plan covers Great and Little Kimble, along with Marsh and could influence future planning decisions for the next 20 years.

A public consultation starts today to give people living in Great and LIttle Kimble cum March parish the chance to give their input and feedback into the neighbourhood plan which is being created for the area.

The six-week consultation on the Neighbourhood Plan starts today (8 January) and will close on 18 February.

As part of the local plan, Wycombe District Council has allocated 160 new homes to be built in the Great & Little Kimble cum Marsh Parish area over the next 20 years.

As a result the parish council decided to prepare its own Neighbourhood Development Plan in order to have some say as to how the community should develop. 

Together with the Neighbourhood Pan working group and the parish council, Kimble residents have prepared and submitted their detailed neighbourhood plan.

Great & Little Kimble cum Marsh Parish is set in the Vale of Aylesbury at the foot of the Chiltern Hills to the north of Princes and Monks Risborough.

Cabinet Member for Planning and Sustainability at Wycombe District Council, Cllr David Johncock said:

"We have supported and actively encouraged local communities lik eGreat and Little Kimble and Marsh  to have their own  neighbourhood plans.

"While we know that we have to build more homes, we also want local people to have a role in shaping the place where they live.

"It's an important process which builds a strong two-way understanding between local communities and their local planning authorities."  

Once the consultation is complete all the representations, together with the submitted plan and its supporting documents, will be submitted to an independent examiner.

The examiner will assess the plan to see whether it meets the 'basic conditions' for neighbourhood plans required by Government. If it passes the examination there will then be a local referendum to decide whether the plan should be approved. Depending on the result of the referendum, the Council will then 'make' the plan i.e. adopt the plan.

So far, the parish councils in Daws HIll, Bledlow-cum-Saunderton and Longwick-cum-Ilmer have completed neighbourhood plans.
Wooburn and Bourne End Parish Council is also currently preparing a neighbourhood plan for its local area.
