Aylesbury Prison mentee's video shortlisted for award

A charity has been shortlisted for an award, for its short film featuring an Aylesbury inmate.

Trailblazers has been unveiled on the shortlist for the 2020 Charity Film Awards, for their short film based on an ex Aylesbury mentee Cornai 'Cornai's - His journey begins inside'.

The Charity Film Awards celebrates the effective use of video by the third sector to change mindsets, raise awareness for the charity or fundraise.

65,000 people took part in the public voting stage to determine the shortlist.

The Charity Film Awards panel of expert judges, which includes high profile names from entertainment, business, politics and media.

The winners of the Charity Film Awards 2020 will be announced a gala ceremony in central London, in the Spring.

Celebrity Ambassadors for Charity Film Awards include; Mariella Frostrup, Quentin Willson, Jason Bell and Chris Warburton. 

John Shepherd CEO Trailblazers said:

"We are immensely proud to have been shortlisted for the 2020 Charity Film Awards, especially given that we are a small charity with the shortlisting being determined by public votes.

"Our work with young offenders across four prison establishments is very challenging, and by its nature is hidden from public view. It is great to get the public voting for our film and we hope that through this we can get more recognition and support for the valuable work we do."
