Bucks man begins 5 marathons in 5 days challenge

RAF High Wycombe's Corporal Nick Gaulder begins his epic challenge today.

Every day Cpl Gaulder will be running from RAF High Wycombe to RAF Halton, and back.

He will be travelling via Princes Risborough and Wendover each day.

Its a huge challenge, with a total of 131 miles to cover.

It's all in aid of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust, who focus on the education and support of young people engaged in aviation.

Cpl Gaulder explained why its so important to him:

"Since I've been in the air force I've seen the trust get formed.

"Young people in the junior ranks have walked away with pilot licences. Even on a cadet side of things, the money given to the squadrons is giving these young children the opportunities they wouldn't have.

"The help the charity out, to do and give what they're giving... It's amazing."

He is no stranger to marathons though, having run 12 before and preparing to run the London marathon in April.

A fundraising page has been set up so people can donate to support Cpl Gaulder, but he would love some support if you see him:

"I'll be wearing a florescent backpack, with the RAF flag out of it. If you see me going by beep your horn, and give us a wave."
