Man jailed over child sex offences in Aylesbury

A man in Aylesbury has been jailed for sex offences involving children.

Duncan Russell, who has no address, pleaded guilty to:

  • one count of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child
  • two counts of attempting to cause or incite a girl aged 13 to 15 in sexual activity

He was sentenced to a total of five years and three months’ imprisonment at the same hearing.

Between 25 November and 6 December 2018, Russell attempted to engage in sexual communication with a child online.

He was charged with the offences on 22 July, 2019.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Andrew Melton, of Aylesbury Force CID, said:

“I am pleased that Russell has been sentenced for his crimes and that he has been given a significant custodial sentence.

“This should serve as a warning to others that they cannot hide behind their computer screens and expect to get away with it.”
