Flooding alert on River Thame

Parts of Aylesbury and surrounding villages are affected by a flood warning.

A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the River Thame and Chalgrove Brook. 

Flooding is possible for:

River Thame from Marsworth to Dorchester including:

  • Long Marston
  • Rowsham
  • North Aylesbury
  • Cuddington
  • Thame
  • Shabbington
  • Ickford
  • Waterperry
  • Cuddesdon
  • Wheatley
  • Quarrendon
  • Drayton St Leonard
  • Overy

Chalgrove Brook at Chalgrove and Stadhampton.

Property flooding is not currently expected.

River levels are rising on the River Thame and Chalgrove Brook as a result of recent rainfall. Therefore, flooding of low lying roads and farmland is possible later today 28/01/20, especially in the Thame Bridge area.

The weather forecast (28/01/20) is for a mostly dry day with a chance of showers today and tomorrow.

The EA expect river levels to continue to rise through the day and they are closely monitoring the situation.
