Chiltern Cheetahs Cheerleading squad has earned a place at The Summit 2020

Momentum is a 21 strong junior cheer team who's success, including winning national championship titles, has earned them a place at the event.

The under 14's group will compete alongside 43 other countries.

The tough international competition will take place in Florida in May.

Chiltern Cheetahs

Jess Goodall, is Programme Director  at Chiltern Cheerleaders:

" We are delighted to have been won a place to compete at The Summit, it is a fantastic opportunity for the team to represent their country and they have worked so hard all last year to get to this level of fitness and skills.

We hope that we will do the UK proud when we compete this May, we are up against 43 other countries and we know it will be a tough competition.  Our aim is perform a perfect routine on the day and get through to the final round."

In 2016 Cheerleading was recognised by the Olympics committee as a sport, meaning future games could see squads competing for medals.

There are over 100 registered teams in the UK and the sport is continuing to grow.
