Aylesbury dance group headed to World Cup

The Aylesbury dance group will be headed to the Dance World Cup in June.

The group from Aylesbury Performing Arts Centre has been selected to represent Team England. 

The international dance competition will take place in Rome this year.

Around 6,000 children and young people from 62 countries take part in the event each year.

The Aylesbury group are made up of 11 boys and girls aged 14-18 years old. 

They have set up a crowdfunding page to help raise money so they can travel their later this year.

The competition is only a few months away and the school will now undertake a huge fundraising campaign.

Principal Katie Ford said:

"We have the full support of the team's parents and families and they have been amazing in helping with the planning of various upcoming events including quiz nights, bag packing and raffles etc but we now need to look to the local community for help."  

Principal Lyndsay Aldred added

"This means so much to the kids and we don't want to let them down by being unable to raise the funds we need to get them to Rome.

"It really is a huge achievement to have qualified for the finals and we're so extremely proud of them. We hope the local community will get behind them and show their support."
