Police issue warning over social media videos

Thames Valley Police are warning people to think before they share videos on social media.

Officers in Aylesbury Vale are focusing on videos that show a crime.

A post on their Facebook page explains the consequences of posting and sharing videos online.

Videos of a crime can be used as evidence in court, but there is a danger to the case if they are shared before a trial.

If a juror see's a video in evidence they should be impartially viewing it for the first time.

Videos that are widely shared can  result in a case being thrown out of court because of potential jury bias.
