40mph speed limit on section of A41

A section of the A41 will have a reduced speed limit this week.

The section at Westcott has been reduced to 40 mph as contractors begin work on the new roundabout.

Replacing the current T-junction it's hoped it will be a safer road layout, and will provide dedicated access to Westcott Venture Park

The reduced speed limit will remain in place through the construction, which is expected to finish in the Autumn.

From tomorrow, temporary traffic lights will be needed 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday until Friday 28 February, although the construction team say they will work hard to finish early and remove the traffic lights as soon as it's safe to do so.

Temporary traffic lights will not be needed at weekends.

The £2 million project, funded by the National Productivity Investment Fund, the Local Transport Body, and Westcott Venture Park.

Forming part of an access scheme it is a result of a collaboration between the County Council and Westcott Venture Park

Paul Irwin, Buckinghamshire County Council's Deputy Transport Cabinet Member, says:

"The Venture Park is one of the leading edge technology business jewels in Buckinghamshire's crown.

"With the roundabout in place and increased capacity at the junction by the end of the year, I'm sure it'll open up opportunities for this world-leading enterprise zone.

"It'll also make a big contribution to safety for residents of Westcott and Ashendon, who've been pressing for a roundabout for a long time."
