Replacement planned for old BHS shop in Aylesbury

60 jobs could be created by a potential replacement for the old BHS shop in Aylesbury.

A trampoline park and soft-play company have applied to change the two-floor space which the department store left in 2016.

FlipOut is the client planning to move into the old shop in Friars Square, which has been partially used as a charity shop since British Home Stores closed.

They run several centres already and these usually include:

  • A briefing room
  • Changing room & locker area
  • A cafe
  • Party rooms

10 full-time and 50 part-time roles could be created, with opening times being 10am to 8pm Monday to Thursday, 10am to 9pm Friday and Saturday and then 10am to 7pm on a Sunday.

The proposal says this will have economic benefits to the town as a prominent unit it finally occupied once more.

We have seen similar changes over in Hale Leys, where a soft play and arcade have opened in previous traditional retail spaces.
