New principal for Aylesbury secondary school

A school in Aylesbury has a new leader, after 'an extensive selection process'.

The Mandeville School say they are delighted to announce that Mrs Debbie Shepherd has been appointed as their new Principal with immediate effect.

Mrs Shepherd joined Mandeville in September 2019 as Interim Principal having previously been Deputy Headteacher at Manshead Academy in Bedfordshire, and brings almost 30 years of teaching experience to Mandeville.

Following her appointment, Mrs Shepherd said:

“I am thrilled to take on this role and am very excited to lead the school’s ongoing commitment to becoming an ‘Outstanding’ school.

“The school already has many strengths – the staff and students being among them. The next steps for me as Principal is ensuring that the community has belief in what they can achieve.

“My thanks go to all the staff, students, parents and governors who have all been so welcoming since I first came here in September, and I’m looking forward to continuing our exciting journey of improvement.”

Paul Boulting, Chair of Governors at The Mandeville School, said:

“This is a fantastic outcome for the school and on behalf of the Governing Board, I would like to wish Debbie every success in her new role.

“This permanent appointment continues our aim to embed stability at the school and ensure we continue on an upward trajectory for the benefit of all our students and staff.”
