The Environment Agency said:

"Storm Dennis brings a forecast of rainfall - heavy at times - over the next 48 hours. We expect river levels to continue rising into next week in response to this rainfall.

"We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are operating weirs to reduce flood risk and in the area clearing weed/trash screens.

"Please remain safe and aware of your local surroundings and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near local watercourses, which may be flooded."
