Plans for 'film making space' in Aston Clinton

Film stars could be coming to Aston Clinton.

That is if plans from Pinewood, to turn an industrial unit near Arla into a space for filming, are approved.

The application says this would create a 'diversity of jobs' in the creative industries.

The industrial park where filming could take place

It is as Pinewood and other studios come under more pressure from large-scale productions taking up more and more space.

Activity within the film and high-end TV sectors have accelerated in recent years with more frequent high-value productions filmed in the UK, supported by leading studios such as Pinewood.

Demand for filming on location, making use of landscapes and buildings, has also increased, with a series of high-grossing productions filmed on location in recent years...

...The application building will be used primarily as space to build interior sets for filming.

Set construction and assembly will take place within the building, with some set construction taking place off-site and then transported onto the site.

The building, which forms part of Symmetry Park, would be soundproofed and modified to include office space and areas for makeup and wardrobe.

Buckinghamshire has been the backdrop to many films and TV shows and this could increase production in the county even further.

A decision on whether this can go ahead or not is due to be made in April.
