UPDATE: Fundraising suspended for Aylesbury dad with brain tumour

UPDATE: Chris is no longer able to fly but will receive surgery.

A post on his gofundme page reads:

Dear all. Thank you so much for all your support and generosity it has been simply overwhelming. My family and I will be eternally grateful.
We have had unexpected news. Chris was advised not to fly today due to the severity of his condition. A neurosurgeon at our current hospital told us she is willing to do surgery for Chris tomorrow. This stops us having to take the extremely risky flight to Sydney which was always a huge concern with Chris’s condition getting worse by the day, but it was something we were willing to risk when we had no other options available.

We are praying that everything goes well in tomorrow's surgery and that his surgeon can successfully remove a portion of the tumour to hopefully ease Christopher's symptoms. We ask that you please keep Chris in your thoughts and prayers.
In light of this new development we will no longer be promoting the Go Fund Me Page. Chris will still need extensive treatment after his surgery but given the change in circumstances we can offer a refund to anyone who feel they would like their donation back. If so please contact us within the next 48hrs although please be patient as we are going through an extremely stressful and emotional time.

All funds donated will go fully towards Christopher's treatment ahead and to support us whilst he needs ongoing care.

Our family will still post regular updates so that you are able to follow the outcome of the surgery and Chris’s future progress in his brain tumour battle.
Again, we cannot thank you all enough, from the bottom of our hearts.

Initial Story:

Its the final day of fundraising for Aylesbury dad after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Christopher, 31 from Aylesbury was diagnosed with a brain tumour located on his cerebellum.

Diagnosed on January 28th the family, including his mother who has flown from Aylesbury, still doesn't know what type of tumour it is.

Now living in Australia, the dad of one has been bed bound due to nausea and dizziness when moving.

The medical team at his current hospital believe the tumour is inoperable, and since his admission has grown quickly.

However, the Bucks family have been told a doctor in Sydney will try to remove the tumour.

They have been given the chance to have the operation tomorrow (04/03), but they need to raise $150,000 for the transport and surgery.

The cost of the surgery needs to be paid up front, so the family only have to raise the rest of the funds today.

His wife Amy told mix96 what peoples donations mean to her, their 1 year old daughter and the rest of the family:

"She is the reason why I have to try everything I possible can. It would mean the world to us all.

"I can't even explain how grateful we are to every single person who has helped to get our story out. Even just sharing, every single person who has read our story has helped us in that way. And every single donation... I can't event thank people enough."

Their gofundme page includes this message:

We gratefully ask you to donate any amount at all that you can to help Christopher receive treatment, whatever that treatment ends up being. That money you would normally spend on a meal in a restaurant, a food shop or a tank of petrol could be the difference between you helping save someone’s life.

Please, if you believe in hope, if you have ever watched a loved one suffer or had cancer affect you or your family, be one of the people who will donate and give hope to Chris, his family, friends, wife and beautiful daughter.

If you can’t donate, you can still help - Please ‘share’ this GoFundMe link with all of your social media friends & followers.

Donations can be made via the gofundme page.
