Aylesbury MP to prioritise infrastructure

Aylesbury's MP has said he is prioritising putting infrastructure in place before new homes are built.

Rob Butler, MP for Aylesbury, has told Mix96 that services need to be in place before homes are built.

He told Mix96 Aylesbury residents have already spoken to him about how they have moved into the area and are struggling with school places.

Rob is challenging the current method of building first and providing later:

"Infrastructure has to be in the right place at the right time. That means that, for example schools need to be in place before all the houses.

"I've already started having conversions with people in government about how we can change the order of this."

But, schools is not the only issue faced with new homes being built.

Part of Rob's focus is providing support for other areas that suffer under a growing population:

"Aylesbury has taken its fair share of new housing and there is going to be eve more. So its crucial that we have the services that are required. That's things like the doctors surgeries, the school but also the roads.

"So I'm spending quite a bit of time lobbying the government on making sure that Aylesbury is not in total gridlock."
