Bucks students place at national hairdressing competition

Two students from Buckinghamshire College Group have placed in the first-ever National Concept Hair Apprentice of the Year competition.

The ongoing competition is divided into six regional heats - South West, Wales, North East, North West, Midlands and South East.

Buckinghamshire College Group hosted the South East heat which took place on 12th February at the Aylesbury Campus.

There were eighty eight competitors on the day from seventeen other colleges/training providers in the region, and the standard of work was very high.

The College had twelve hairdressing students taking part, and they all produced fantastic work.  

National Concept Hair Apprentice of the Year competition

The day was divided to rounds where students would be tasked with a creative hairdressing or barbering brief.

Lucia Cabello came first place in the Level 1 Styling hair competition which had a 1920's theme.

Sajia Ghousi came second in the Level 3 styling hair competition which had a Prom theme.  

Both students will be representing the College at the final on Thursday 26th March in Millennium Gloucester Hotel, London.

Shan Fensome, Curriculum Manager for Hair and Beauty at the College said:
