Much-loved village matriarch's legacy continued in Bucks

A cafe inspired by the work of a familiar face in the community opens in Steeple Claydon today.

Molly Lewis worked to open the village's newsagents in the 1970s.

It recently closed and the cafe is taking its place, named after Molly and aiming to be a hub for the village.

The website says:

The driving principle of the café is to provide a community hub where people have the opportunity to help through volunteering seek to help improve their quality of life, or simply enjoy good food and drink in a welcoming bright environment.

Volunteers will be supported to make sure they enjoy their involvement and we particularly help those with additional needs. We have established community partnerships with groups and organisations in the village and we will donate surplus funds to support local group

They are having an opening event today (7/3).

It is running from 10am until 2pm, with visitors invited to try out the food and drink and then make a donation to the cafe.
