Works start on Princes Risborough Community Centre

Princes Risborough Community Centre has started work on their extension. 

The community centre in Princes Risborough will start work on its major extension today. 

The extension, which is due to be completed by December 2020, follows a successful Public Consultation. 

It will include a new function room and bar, a 60-seater cafe, additional toilet facilities and also improvements to the current heating and drainage facilities.

The centre will look towards environmentally friendly energy solutions for these improvements.

The project which is scheduled to cost £750.000.

Its being funded by a £450,00 loan from Public Works Load Board, a grant of over £150,000 from Wycombe District Council with the rest being made up from Town Council resources.

Chairman and Mayor, Cllr Matthew Walsh added:

"The existing facilities simply cannot accommodate the growing demand of our users and by delivering this expansion, we are certain that the centre will be enjoyed by many generations to come."

BEP Contracting Ltd have been appointed to carry out the extension and renovation, by Princes Risborough Town Council, and they have  been designed by local architects Morgan Architectural Designs.
